Outside Sales Representative - SC/NC

Insight Global is assisting a client in identifying a motivated and results driven Outside Sales Representative for a direct hire opportunity with an organization in the utility engineering services industry. This role has a direct impact to the companys future growth, as it involves generating leads, establishing and maintaining relationships with potential and existing customers, and closing sales. You will also be expected to travel within your assigned territory, attend trade shows and events, and provide feedback on market trends and customer needs. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication and negotiation skills, a customer-oriented mindset, and a passion for the utilities industry. You will be responsible for being the subject matter expert in our clients utility and electrical products including light pole bases and pads, electric manhole and utility vaults, substation foundations, and transformer vaults and pads.

Required Skills & Experience
• Experience in an outside sales or business development role, building/maintaining relationships with clients, with a "hunter" mentality
• Civil Construction or electrical utilities industry background:
o Strong understanding of civil construction such as foundations, excavation, caissons, flat work, etc.
• Comfortable and willing to be on the road up to 75% of the time (road warrior)
Excellent communication and cold calling abilities

Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Precast concrete background
• Experience selling light pole bases and pads, electric manhole and utility vaults, substation foundations, and transformer vaults and pads.
• Professional engineering license
• Bachelors degree in engineering or construction
