The Admissions Coordinator will serve as the first contact for prospective students, parents, standardized patients, visitors to the PA Department, and members of other departments and divisions of the University of Dayton; and will provide support to both full-time and adjunct faculty. Under the direct supervision of the Department of PA Education Department Chair, the PA Admissions Coordinator is responsible for handling office duties such as budget management, textbook processing, management of vendor contracts and payments, creation and maintenance of faculty and student files, and classroom scheduling. Provides supervision of tasks and scheduling for student worker. This person should have a good working knowledge of the University of Dayton policies and procedures in order for the PA Department to run efficiently.

As Admissions Coordinator, this person is responsible for management of all facets of the admissions process within the program. Promotes the program, aids in recruitment, and explains admissions policies through career fairs and information sessions. Provides ongoing review of student applications. Communicates effectively with prospective students, families, applicants, and admitted students and provides admissions counseling via the telephone, electronic, print, and in-person communication. Interfaces with departments on campus to ensure students successfully complete all admissions requirements and are properly enrolled before matriculation. Handles a wide variety of tasks in a busy, service-oriented atmosphere; establishes priorities using excellent organizational ability and interpersonal skills. Coordinates program data collection in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.

Provides support for 8 full-time department faculty and 19 adjunct faculty. A total of 120 students are enrolled in the PA Program, with up to 80 of those being on-campus at a time. Each year, between 1,100-1,200 applications are reviewed but this position will also interface with a number of additional prospective students who are not yet active in the application cycle.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree
Minimum of 5 years of administrative assistant experience
Ability to work well as a team member with honesty and integrity
Strong communication, time management and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Drive, Calendar).
Basic budget skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge of and sensitivity to a Catholic Marianist work environment
7 years of administrative assistant experience, preferably in higher education
Excellent working knowledge of Power Point and software specific to the University of Dayton such as Isidore, Banner and Cognos.
Experience in a university admission process and enrollment.
