UMFK is seeking to hire a Part-time Computer Sciences Faculty (adjunct) member to teach the following courses for the Fall 2024 semester: 
  • COS 260- Foundations of Programming I 
  • COS 338- Introductions to Networking
  • COS 346- Databases
  • COS 360- Computer Organization/ Assembly Language 
Successful candidates will have professional experience in the subject to be taught and either demonstrate or have strong potential for teaching excellence. They also will have a firm commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications:

Required:  
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of field/experience
  • Programming experience in C, C++, Python, Java, Assembly, Javascript, CSS, HTML and/or SQL.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with the ability to appropriately use e-mail, and video conferencing tools such as Zoom,
  • Experience using D2L Brightspace or other Learning Management Systems (LMS) to facilitate remote learning
  • A passion for inspiring students who have faced obstacles in their education
Preferred:  
  • Doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or a Master's degree in a relevant discipline with 2+ years of field/teaching experience
  • 2+ years of experience teaching computer science at the college level
