The role you'll contribute:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
All essential functions must be performed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with qualified disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Reviews and quality checks transcribed reports in the "Transcription Follow-up Work List" for blanks, summary of cassettes, demographic issues, date and time in formalin, date and time received and collected , hard holds, blanks pathologists assistants and transcriptionists email feedback.
Blanks are compared with actual dictation. Applies industry specific standards provided by current resources and references to provide timely and consistent feedback
Reviews and completes reports in the "Hold" queue for completeness of all specimen parts, dictated corrections, specimen part type discrepancies, and laterality of specimen, sending to Pathology Processing for follow up with nursing or other personnel
Prints all cases completed to printers in Cytology or Histology.
Completes nightly correction list of all reports plus a list of all cases printed to cytology or Histology and forwards them to manager, Histology distribution team
Discusses physician dictation issues with management team to assist in assuring optimal dictation habits are being followed
Interacts with all anatomic pathology departments to ensure a smooth workflow and turnaround time
Monitors reports in Fluency Manager for delays in reports being edited/transcribed. Notifies manager of any issues for followup.
Performs other duties as assigned
Five years of proven hospital experience with broad knowledge of all specialties, including transplant and multiple levels of Oncology

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
5+ years of experience
