Patient Accounts Team Lead

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Manager of Patient Accounts, serves as senior level staff and coordinates the activities of designated area which may include the billing of hospital receivables, following up for payment and customer service. Daily monitoring of established productivity level and goals. Demonstrates ability to identify, analyze and solve problems. Functional knowledge of all jobs in the department. Assists Manager with training new staff. Fulfills lead role in special projects. Performs other tasks that maybe assigned by the Manager. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School graduate, with 5+ years of experience in the billing, collections or customer service area of a hospital or clinic patient accounts department.
• Familiarity with CPT-4, ICD-9 and HCPCS coding, preferred.
• Certification by AAHAM or HFMA desired.
