Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA)

University Hospitals Lake West Medical Center is looking for dedicated and passionate team members to fill night shift (6:30 pm - 7:30 am) PCNA positions. Available units include: ICU, Step Down, Med/Surg, and Surgical.

What You'll Do:

• The Patient Care Nursing Associate PCNA completes patient care activities as delegated by the RN.
• PCAs perform duties including, but not limited to, ADLs, vital signs, I and Os, 12 lead ECG, bladder scan, hygiene and venipuncture where applicable.
• Familiarity with using wheelchairs, EKG equipment, patient assistive devices, and patient care equipment specific to assigned population.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills both written and verbal, as well as, exhibiting strong organizational skills and work ethic, demonstrates a professional demeanor when responding to patients and customers, basic computer data entry skills.

Qualifications:

• High School Equivalent / GED required
• BLS certification, issued by the American Heart Association, must be obtained prior to starting.
• Experience in a large teaching hospital preferred.
• One year job stability preferred.
