JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

The Pediatric Quality RN Specialistis responsible for the coordination of pediatric quality activities. They will work in collaboration with the clinical staff to optimize the care provided to pediatric patients

Job Responsibilities

  1. Facilitate pediatric performance improvement activities.
  2. Serve as the liaison to appropriate in-hospital and out-of-hospital pediatric care initiatives.
  3. Facilitate hospital based pediatric educational activities.
  4. Ensure that initial and annual competency evaluations completed by the nursing staff are pertinent to pediatric patients.
  5. Assure pediatric readiness.
  6. Promote pediatric disaster preparedness and participate in hospital disaster-preparedness activities.
  7. Provide assistance and support for pediatric education of out-of-hospital providers.
  8. Performs other duties as requested by hospital leadership
  9. Assists with concurrent and retrospective data abstraction for chart reviews specific to pediatric patients.


Education

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Preferred:

Master's Degree in Nursing or other health-related field

Experience

Required:

  1. Three (3) or more years experience as a pediatric nurse
  2. Experience participating in clinical performance improvement activities
  3. Experience leading projects and/or teams


Preferred:

  1. Experience leading in clinical performance imporvement activities


Skills/Cert/Licenses

Required:

  1. Current Registered Nurse in State of Georgia
  2. Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
  3. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  4. Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  5. Successful completion of Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course (TOPIC) course within 6 months of hire
  6. Successful Completion of Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) within 6 months of hire
  7. Excellent written/verbal communication skills with a focus on maintaining relationships
  8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  9. Motivated to acquire new skills and knowledge while working under pressure
  10. Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
  11. Knowledge of medical terminology and navigation of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)


Preferred:

  1. Current ENPC or CCRN -P
  2. ICD-10 coding familiarity
