Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, bargaining contract provisions as, departmental policies, and departmental procedures concerning personnel transactions.
  • Familiarity working with the various HR systems such as SCO, myCalPERS, and HR Connect; control agencies laws, rules, and resource manuals; current office methods, procedures, equipment, and basic math principles.
  • Strong level of initiative; interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of and experience performing human resources functions, including payroll, time recording, and benefits.
  • Maintain excellent, consistent, and predictable attendance and dependability.
  • Willingness to create and promote an equitable and inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated and valued.
