Pharmacy Manager Role:
As a Pharmacy Manager, you will provide leadership to department personnel, promoting departmental sales, and delivering exceptional customer service to support profitability goals. You will be responsible for accurately filling prescriptions in a timely manner, completing related paperwork, and addressing customer inquiries regarding proper medication use. In addition, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals and insurance companies to obtain and verify essential customer information.
Interview, hire, train, and develop pharmacy staff.
Plan, assign, and oversee daily work activities.
Conduct performance appraisals, reward outstanding performance, and address disciplinary matters.
Create and manage work schedules.
Handle partner complaints and resolve operational issues.
Utilize item management processes to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Review and analyze profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data.
Provide verbal or written summaries to upper management regarding related issues.
Accurately fill prescriptions according to each order.
Complete and maintain necessary paperwork.
Document proper billing information for insurance reimbursement.
Administer immunizations.
Participate in local health fairs to educate the public.
Ensure dated products are appropriately stocked, rotated, or discarded if unsold.
Ensure pharmacy personnel adhere to legal and company guidelines for security, certification, licensure, and confidentiality.
Maintain a friendly and customer service-oriented attitude.
Greet customers and aid in product selection.
Address customer questions and concerns, ensuring their satisfaction.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with local doctors.
Contact doctors and insurance companies to obtain and verify necessary customer information.
Advanced knowledge of pharmacy department operations.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Adaptability to learn new technology systems and processes.
Effective communication with both customers and colleagues.
Courteous and customer-focused demeanor.
Ability to build and maintain positive customer relationships.
Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Pharmacy Manager Background Profile:
Advanced knowledge of pharmacy department operations.
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree required.
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certification required.
Current Pennsylvania Pharmacist License.
Current Pennsylvania Immunization License.
