Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital in Rhinelander, WI is seeking a PHARMACY TECHNICIAN II to join our team!

The Pharmacy Technician II performs the procurement, preparation, and distribution of medications and in the accurate recording of patient information, drug information and cost/charge information under the supervision of a pharmacist. They perform multiple job duties within one shift as defined in Pharmacy Technician I and other duties as directed.

HOURS: Full Time or .8 FTE, 64 hours every pay period. Day/PM rotation to include weekend/holiday coverage.

Experience/Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, required.
  • Experience in a health-related field, pharmacy and/or computers, preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel, preferred.
  • Previous pharmacy experience in a similar position for at least 2 years or at the discretion of the hiring manager.
  • Pharmacy technician requirements by state:
  • Michigan - applied for a temporary license prior to first day and receive full license within 365 days of hire.
  • Wisconsin - applied for Pharmacy Technician Registration, completion of application required by the first day of hire.
  • Minnesota - active Pharmacy Technician Registration, by first day of hire.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification, PTCB or ExCPT, preferred.
  • Annual competencies as required by Aspirus and/or various regulatory agencies based on entity and/or job position.
  • Complete and maintain required testing and competencies as indicated for area of practice.
  • Stays current with pharmacy department and system communications; Demonstrates appropriate and effective oral and written communication.
  • In addition, Sterile Product Technicians are required to complete training which includes didactic coursework, practical skill assessments, routine gloved fingertip testing, media fill testing, and other monitoring as required by USP 797, USP 800, and department policy.
  • 18 years of age or older
  • This role may consist of traveling to other Aspirus locations.
