Position Summary: Works under the direction and supervision ofthe physical therapist. The physical therapist assistant implements selectedcomponents of patient interventions (treatment), obtains data related to theinterventions provided, and makes modifications in selected interventionseither to progress the patient as directed by the physical therapist or toensure patient safety and comfort.
JobSpecific Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Implementsthe individualized plan of care as established by the physical therapist.
2. Adjuststreatment interventions in response to patient feedback, objective data andobservation within the established plan of care. Identifies need for changes inplan of care and communicates with supervising physical therapist.
3. Assiststhe physical therapist with managing the established discharge plan throughouttreatment.
4. Supervisesand delegates to ancillary staff and students consistent with state laws anddepartment policy.
5. Completeslegible, accurate, and clear documentation within the established timeframeidentified in the department policy and procedure and in accordance withaccreditation requirements and insurance regulations.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Graduate of an accredited physical therapistassistant program.
• Current state Board of Physical TherapistAssistant licensure.
• BLS certification.
Preferred:
• One (1) year of physical therapist assistant experience.
