Straumann Summary
Straumann Manufacturing produces dental implants and associated parts at high volume. There are many different processes required to turn raw titanium into a dental implant with correct dimensional features, proper surface finishing, and appropriate packaging.
The co-op program has been in place for a number of years, and we pride ourselves in giving the co-op student responsibility in a hands-on apprentice type-learning environment.

Position Summary
You will be challenged with a process improvement project, working both independently and as part of a team. You will report to the Director of Process Improvement and Technology and will function as a direct report engineer.

Tasks:
Participate in process improvement activities in the following areas
CNC Machining
Automation
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Laser Marking
Packaging / Labeling
Anodizing
Surface Treatment

Data Analysis / Technology
Collect and analyze Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) information
Update documentation through Engineering Change Order (ECO) process
Validation of New Processes

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Sit/stand for 8 hours

Minimum Qualifications:
Enrolled in an engineering degree program at a college or university

Preferred Qualifications:
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to get along well with others
High degree of attention to detail
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Analytical problem solving skills
CAD
