JOB SUMMARY

Under general supervision of a registered pharmacist, and according to established policies and procedures, provides technical support for distributive and clinical functions. Responsibilities to include assisting in filling, compounding, reconstituting, preparing and labeling of medications, and delivery to patient care areas. Participates in physician order processing, targeted drug programs, medication administration record review, patient profile review, pharmacotherapy consult service, staff development, and educational programs. Other responsibilities include triaging pharmacy inquiries and physician orders and maintenance and replenishment of medications in the pharmacy and assigned areas. Able to perform all of the duties of a registered pharmacy intern under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a professional pharmacy program at an accredited college of Pharmacy.
• Current licensure as a Registered Pharmacist Intern in the state of Florida.
• Able to use computer equipment, databases and related pharmacy office equipment.
• Completion of the second year in a professional pharmacy program at an accredited college of Pharmacy, Previous pharmacy hospital experience defined as three months
