Our research goals are to further our understanding of the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases and to identify novel pathways and targets for the development of therapy. In particular, we are interested in understanding the mechanisms underlying protein misfolding, extracellular vesicles and propagation of disease in neurodegeneration. We use iPSC from patients with Alzheimer’s Disease and other types of neurodegenerative diseases as our model system, in addition to genetically modified mice. The post-doctoral fellow will use multi-pronged approach including biochemistry, CRISPR genetic editing, gene expression analysis, mouse genetics, proteomics and imaging. The ideal candidate will have experience in cell culture, rodents, biochemical, molecular and cellular biological techniques in neuroscience or stem cell biology.

Qualifications

We are seeking a highly motivated recent or pending MD and/or PhD graduate to work in a molecular and cellular neuroscience/stem cell lab for disease modeling using patient derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC).
