A post-doctoral research opportunity in quantitative analysis and modeling of the forest products sector is available at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture (UTIA), in the School of Natural Resources (SNR), in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service Forest Products Laboratory. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team including scientists at UTIA and USDA Forest Service Forest Products Laboratory in carrying out research studies on the allocation of forest products to various applications in the United States. This is an exempt, full-benefits, grant-funded position, available to start as soon as November 1, and offers a competitive salary with initial funding secured for 18 months. The position may be extended further depending upon satisfactory job performance and continued availability of funding. This position is stationed on the UT Institute of Agriculture campus in Knoxville, Tennessee, though a remote or hybrid location may be negotiated for the most desirable candidate. Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A doctoral degree obtained prior to the position start date in a relevant field, such as Economics, Natural Resources, Agriculture Economics, Forestry, Engineering, Mathematics, Environmental Economics, Statistics, or a closely-related field with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research in forestry/wood products or construction industry. All but dissertation (ABD) applicants will be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate for this position will have experience with or a willingness to learn and use various ways of collecting and analyzing primary and secondary data on production and end use of forest products. Familiarity with wood or construction industry is a plus.
