Insight Global is looking for a Powertrain Test Engineer to join on of our largest automotive clients in the Bay Area. This person will be a part of the Reliability and Test team and will be responsible for the following:
Develop and implement test programs for electric vehicle powertrain technologies.
Work directly with design engineers to create design validation test plans.
Design and fabrication of test equipment for mechanical, thermal, and electrical systems.
Perform component, system, and vehicle validation under dynamic and environmental conditions.
Work with design engineers to validate and refine models.
Analyze test data and write test reports.
Investigate root cause of failures and help to drive product improvement.

This role has a salary range of $110k-$170k based on skillset and years of experience.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability.
2+ years of experience in physical testing and analysis of mechanical, thermal, or electrical systems
Automotive component/system testing experience, including certification testing.
Experience with Python, Matlab, or other data acquisition and analysis software.
Design of test setups for mechanical and thermal performance testing, such as fixtures for shock and vibe testing.
Experience creating and executing design validation plans and test methods to validate performance requirements.
Experience creating analytical and numerical models of mechanical, thermal, or electrical systems.
Working knowledge of heat transfer and thermal management.
