Position Summary

The Practice Manager provides leadership, direction and administration to aspects of clinic activities to ensure accomplishment of its objectives. Supervise staff and oversee the activities of Clinic Staff and Providers of ECU Health Physicians.

Responsibilities

1. Participate with Regional Administrator in charting and implementing the clinic services mission in response to the changing needs of the community.

Recommend, assist in development and update strategic long-range plans to support clinic services philosophy and goals.
Inform Administrator about current trends, problems and activities in the medial field to facilitate policy making.
Recommend clinic policy positions regarding administrative and legislative matters.
2. Coordinate with the Administrator, medical staff, administrative team and other clinic personnel the monitoring of medical activities to ensure the availability of the community s needs for quality care.

Consult with relevant staff and departments prior to recommending and establishing new policies to ensure the availability of support and resources.
3. Coordinate efforts to medical staff, Regional Director and administrative staff in the recruitment, development, evaluation and retention of medical personnel.

Coordinate the long-range financial development and management of the organization
4. Ensure the provision of affordable health care services by the acquisition of resources (human, financial and physical). Develop improved management techniques and practices.

Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Continually monitor operations, programs, and physical properties. Initiate appropriate change.
Encourage the integration of the Clinic services with community through effective communication and public relations programs.
5. Represent the hospitals clinic services in its relationship with other health organizations, government agencies and third party payors.

Direct and supervise clinic activities through department heads and administrative support staff. Consult with and advise department heads on a regular basis.
Provide assistance to supervisory personnel in establishing department philosophy and objectives related to staffing and performance standards, policies and procedures, job classifications, compliance with government regulations.
6. Serve as a liaison and channel of communication between the hospital and its committees, the medical and administrative staff.

Resolve any medical-administrative problems and keep lines of communication open with staff to ensure high employee moral and a professional, healthful clinic atmosphere.
Prepare monthly clinic performance reports for the Regional Director.

c. Maintain professional affiliations and enhance professional growth and development to keep current in the latest trends in clinic administration.

e. Perform related work as require

Minimum Requirements

High School Graduate / GED or higher required

Preferred BS in Business Administration.

Two or more years experience in hospital or ambulatory clinical care setting in a supervisory position. Experience in all areas of a medical office practice.

Knowledge of health care rules and regulations. Organizational and leadership skills. Requires telephone and computer skills on a daily basis. Must have good public relations skills with the ability to interact with staff and providers.

Preferred Requirements
  • Knowledge of Lifestyle interventions in the treatment of chronic diseases
  • EPIC experience
  • Medical Billing experience
