Job Description
Oversees the provision of counsel and guidance on labor relations issues relevant organizational goals and objectives, and leads contract negotations (1st Chair). Leads and supports efforts to develop, integrate and administer Labor Relations policies, services and programs of the Health System. A lead labor negotiator role for the system.
Job Responsibility
1. Provides labor relations support with limited direction from leadership; implements, interprets, communicates, educates and, where appropriate, represents the employer as the spokesperson in collective bargaining.
2. Contributes through a combination of key technical labor relations expertise and technical leadership that regularly provides enterprise level guidance to the Health System.
3. Manages operational projects and initiates value-added projects to maximize positive labor relations; serves as key participant in creating, planning, and implementing strategic initiatives with accountability for the effectiveness of programs and processes.
As an expert in the field, uses professional concepts in developing resolution to critical enterprise-wide issues and broad design matters.
4. Partners with business leaders to help strengthen their relationships with unions and their represented team members.
5. Applies advanced knowledge, skills and practices and performs using both an in-depth and broad perspective as needed.
5. Ensure decisions affecting employees are based on data in alignment with our strategic goals; develops strong relationships at all levels to facilitate attainment of goals.
6. Provides consultation and coaching to department heads regarding labor relations and HR issues from a strategic standpoint to include coaching on effectively leading teams, navigating and resolving labor relations issues; makes recommendations to meet department needs and mitigate potential risks.
7. Collaborates with HR colleagues to ensure the delivery of high quality HR services to the business; partners with HR colleagues to drive people development and results oriented performance.

Job Qualification
Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Experience leading contract negotiations, preferred.
15 years of technical experience, preferred.
5 years of leadership experience, preferred.
