Insight Global is seeking a Principal Network Engineer to join a financial services organization in Boston, MA. This financial services organization provides wholesale funding for housing and community finance for partnering financial institutions across New England. The engineer will be a vital member of the network engineering team, within the companys technology infrastructure services group. As a principal level network engineer, the individual will be spending 80% of the time supporting projects currently in-flight and future workforce planning needs. The remaining 20% will revolve around daily tasks and responsibilities.

As a network subject matter expert, the engineer will be responsible for the design, architecture, and hands-on implementation of the organizations network infrastructure hosted within the AWS cloud. This will include partnering with network engineers and architectural leads to evaluate strategies, research infrastructure and cloud best practices, conduct assessments, identify integration issues, and prepare cost estimates. The engineer will also be responsible for ensuring the health of on-prem LAN/WAN networks. Remaining daily responsibilities may include:
o Consult with IS on network security requirements, evaluate monitoring and service delivery alternatives, and implement solutions.
o Provide production network support as an escalation point for the Senior Network Engineer and the organizations applications as they relate to the network.
o Engage in regularly scheduled disaster recovery exercises and analyze system.
o Provide 24x7 on-call support when necessary, which will be shared between all member of networking engineering team.

This is a full-time position that is hybrid, in the office 2 days a week, in Boston, MA.

Compensation
$144,000 to $195,000 per year annual salary.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, education, and consideration of internal equity.

Required Skills & Experience

At least 7 years of network engineering experience at the principal level within a highly regulated environment
5+ years of AWS or Azure networking design and implementation experience, with the ability to build production networks (VPCs and Transit Gateways) inside the AWS or Azure clouds
Ability to administer a Checkpoint environment, with strong firewall and telecom experience
Strong knowledge of supporting services, such as Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing, ALB, etc.
Team player, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

Currently working with network technologies within AWS
