TITLE: Principal Platform Engineer I
LOCATION: Charlotte, NC
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for orchestrating platform builds, automation, support, and maintenance of Charter's eCommerce on-line ordering platforms. Lead highly complex projects and initiatives, including modernizing critical Buyflow Services to ensure security and resiliency. Develop and enhance CI/CD pipeline solutions. Establish best practices and utilize CI/CD pipeline solutions to automate deployments and automation tools to optimize infrastructure builds. Lead efforts to develop infrastructure architecture strategies, standards, target architectures, and roadmaps. Mentor and coach team members to follow established best practices. Perform future system enhancements and scalability, including making recommendations, developing, and executing implementation strategies. Identify and mitigate potential security risks. Leverage Telemetry and Analytic tools to troubleshoot problems. Collaborate with architects, developers, testers, and deployment teams to create software deployment plans. Write and update automation scripts to create infrastructure in the cloud and support installation of server software products. Identify gaps and develop plans to scale infrastructure to support business needs. Configure necessary hardware and Virtual Machines. Collaborate with developers and hardware teams to update infrastructure and OS for applications. Collaborate with developers, platform engineers and infrastructure teams to install and upgrade third-party software. Develop infrastructure architecture strategies, standards, target architectures and roadmaps.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (any) or a related field; 6 years of experience utilizing CI/CD tools to build solutions utilizing tools including GitLab, Jenkins, Puppet, or Artifactory; 6 years of experience writing and maintaining scripts in Python, Ruby, or Groovy to support automation of environment builds and application deployments; 6 years of experience configurating, troubleshooting, and performing management of Linux Systems; 4 years of experience building and maintaining advance platforms that utilize Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) for web content management; and 4 years of experience configuring and maintaining application and web servers to support application platforms utilizing Apache or JBoss.
*Domestic travel 1-2 times per year. A hybrid (in office and remote) work arrangement is available.
