Tesla's in-house Lithium Refinery located near Corpus Christi, Texas is critical to our mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy and represents our efforts to aggressively increase the supply of battery-grade lithium hydroxide available in North America.

We are seeking a Process Controls and Automation Technician to help further our mission. In this role, you will be a crucial member of the team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of process control and automation systems. Your responsibilities will include supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of control systems to optimize plant processes and maintain operational efficiency. Additionally, you will play a key role in supporting the commissioning and startup of the refinery.



Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of process control and automation systems to ensure performance standards and safety regulations are met
  • Maintain detailed records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and equipment performance to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Investigate and resolve all issues related to control systems, PLCs, and automation systems
  • Assist in upgrading and optimizing existing control systems to improve operations efficiency, safety, reliability.
  • Play an integral role in supporting the commissioning and startup of the refinery
  • Work closely with the project and engineering teams to support the installation and commissioning of control systems for new projects and ensure the successful transition to operational status.


Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience in refinery/chemical processing
  • Preferred experience in Emerson DeltaV DCS and SIS or Safety Manager Controls Systems, Siemens PLCs, Allen-Bradley PLCs, Beckhoff PLCs
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting control system issues and identifying solutions.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance in control systems and automation equipment
  • Capacity to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced industrial environment
  • Effective communication skills to report issues, provide updates, and collaborate with with cross-functional teams, including engineers, operators, and maintenance personnel
  • Dedication to ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability in control systems, automation, and documentation
