We are looking for a Process Engineer to join one of our Automotive clients in Romulus, Michigan. The person in this role is going to supporting major breakdowns and focusing on attention to downtime as well as supporting the development and improvements of manufacturing processes and equipment. There will be a combination of floor support as well as process control. Within this role, you'd be working cross functionally with other departments for problem solving, troubleshooting, quality, and manufacturing issues. Additional duties in this role include:
- Collaborating with union and non-union employees
- Working closely with production, maintenance, quality, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects
- Supporting and implementing Manufacturing System Compliance processes
- Proposing and evaluating manufacturing processes and equipment for assigned areas
- Analyzing tooling and equipment to find the proper steps for solutions
- Evaluating expenditures for processes/equipment
- Providing technical support for assigned plant operations
- Support plant in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals
- Coordinate the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment in supporting SPQRC initiatives

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience as a process engineer within a manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes
- 1 year of experience within machining
o Must be able to understand machining processes
- Experience with PPAP, PFMEA'S and GD&T
- Strong understanding of CMM reports
- Team player with strong problem solving capabilities
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Laser welding experience
- Six Sigma Green Belt
