Key skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset management, specifically with OT assets in the power and utilities sector.

Job Summary:

Operational Technology Asset Management Process Owner Responsible for overseeing the lifecycle management of OT assets in the power and utilities industry. Responsible for ensuring reliability, security, and performance within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Workers at this level solve complex problems, manage work, and provide leadership to others with minimal supervision and increased latitude for unreviewed work.
  • Incumbents function in lead roles providing guidance to others. They are also expected to have advanced skills and have the ability to work independently.
  • Provides and leads analytical support to Product Owners or Product Managers engaged in the discovery, design and delivery of products.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Develop and maintain the OT asset management process within ServiceNow, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Provide subject matter expertise related to network diagrams and device communications between the OT and IT environment
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of OT assets, from acquisition to disposal, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Collaborate with IT, OT, and cybersecurity teams to ensure the security and compliance of OT assets.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance asset management processes.
  • Provide training and support to users on OT asset management practices
  • Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to assess the effectiveness of the asset management process.
  • Assist product owner with user research and story writing
  • Knowledge of and ability to lead any of the following key activities within a product team: process mapping, value stream mapping, process analysis, process design, methods development, performance standards & metrics development, ROI analysis
  • Develop and execute quality assurance plans
  • Support change management functions to ensure successful product implementation
  • Collaborate with product team to understand opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives and potential areas to gain efficiencies or cost savings
  • Utilize data to help teams develop and implement solutions
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Information Technology or similar discipline.
  • Years of prior equivalent work-related experience in lieu of a degree (if applicable): 12+
  • Years of prior equivalent work-related experience in addition to a degree: 8+ years working in applicable or related business area

Job-specific knowledge, skills or abilities:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in asset management, specifically with OT assets in the power and utilities sector.
  • Experience in managing the lifecycle of OT assets such as SCADA systems, control systems, smart grid technologies, etc.
  • Experience with OT networks and device communication (e.g., Emerson, SEL, GE, Allen Bradley, Cisco, Siemens, etc.)
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements relevant to the power and utilities industry (e.g., NERC CIP, FERC, TSA).
  • Strong understanding of OT technologies and their applications in the power and utilities industry.
  • Proficiency in system integrations and pushing asset data into a centralized repository
  • Ability to integrate ServiceNow with other systems and tools used for monitoring and managing OT assets
  • Knowledge of IT and OT security principles and how they apply to asset management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and succinctly across a variety of media including facilitation and presenting results to all levels of the organization
  • Attention to detail Excellent ability to understand and analyze business problem

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five or more years' experience in utility industry
  • ServiceNow System Administrator Certification.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - IT Asset Management.
  • Certifications in cybersecurity, such as CISSP or CISM, if the role involves security aspects
  • Ability to define and quantify opportunities with minimal existing data
  • Experience writing business cases
  • Experience creating and maintaining visual representations of ongoing data tracking activities and outcomes (i.e. through data dashboard)
