RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in establishing design parameters to achieve most cost-effective approach consistent with the end item of specifications, performance and reliability objectives
  • Establish designs through calculations, analysis and various design verification techniques
  • Approve releasing engineering designs at prototype, test, development and production phases of a program
  • Assist in set-up/monitoring of a testing program
  • Analyze, evaluate and report test results to determine acceptability or needed modifications in meeting specifications
  • Maintain contact with vendors and subcontractors to keep abreast of new materials, products, sources, pricing and lead-time requirements
  • Solicit vendor knowledge and participation in product standardization and cost reduction
  • Provide information and direction to facilitate building of prototype vehicles
  • Revise design package based on feedback from prototype activities
  • Provideengineering analysis of field problems and, as required, makes recommendations for and implements, corrective action
  • Assist the manufacturing group during production startup and resolves engineering changes for effective production runs

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors Degree - concentration in mechanical or similar engineering discipline
  • 3+ years experience in an engineering environment
  • Product Engineer with knowledge in body design and styling, automotive kits, interior integration and development
  • Experience with HVAC a plus
  • Proficient computer knowledge and skills - Microsoft Office
