Insight Global is looking for a Product Safety Engineer to join our client, a global supplier of mobile elevating work platforms, telehandlers, and utility vehicles. The Product Safety Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert with regards to Customer Support activities. In this role, you will coordinate activities concerning external customer requests and product safety communications. The ideal individual for this role is striving to be a product safety expert and has a passion for solving problems and delivering customer solutions. This is a technical leadership role seen as a Product Safety expert throughout the business and will develop solid relationships with various departments, including Product Management, Engineering, Compliance, Sales, Service, Marketing, Purchasing, Quality, and Operations.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field along with Internship related work experience.
Experience within manufacturing, automotive, or heavy equipment environment
Possess a strong mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical knowledge of components and systems

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Demonstrated knowledge in aerial lift and material handling equipment (MEWPs, Telehandlers).
Education or experience focused on electro-mechanical, mechatronics, electrical or mechanical engineering.
Experience in Product Safety, Reliability, Quality, Compliance, or Improvement Engineering.
Excellent interpersonal skills, especially communications skills (oral and written); demonstrated ability to influence the behavior of peers and others outside the direct reporting line.
Willingness to learn and be the expert in problem solving and continuous improvement processes and tools.
Creative and innovative thinker; demonstrated ability to initiate, lead and sustain change.
Excellent data-driven decision-making skills.
