Insight Global is looking for a Production Engineer to support one of our largest material handling clients in Columbus, Indiana. The Production Engineer will be responsible for looking at downtime reports to determine root cause and to analyze solutions that will increase new technology and automation to increase productivity of operations. This resource will be the project leader in planning, procuring, integrating and installation of production equipment into the assembly areas. This resource will need to have the ability to multitask, critically think and work in a dynamic work environment where several tasks may be assigned at once. After one year, this resource will gain their own capital projects to manage.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology (Mechanical/Industrial/Electrical/Materials/Chemical) OR associate degree in a technical field with applicable experience

1-2 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (this can be working experience, internships, or a co-op )

Ability to design fixtures and tooling using Solidworks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or Catia

Experience with CNC machining primarily drilling, tapping, and face milling using Mazak and Fanuc controls

Experience with industrial assembly processes and methods: Controlled tightening tools, Automated conveyors and fail-safe devices, New process development, Product safeguarding through robust poka-yoke implementation, Automated guided vehicles

Strong technical experience with troubleshooting capability and willingness to work hands-on
