This 24/7 facility uses the newest technology to assemble the majority of our shock-absorber production for three separate yet integral production groups Original Equipment (OE), Aftermarket (AM) and Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV). Summary:

The Production Scheduler I is responsible for coordinating and scheduling a production area to meet customer on-time delivery and inventory replenishment targets. This position will manage inventory levels, schedules, and availability of selected parts, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules. This is a highly cross-functional role with regular interactions between various departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains a safe working environment by complying with all safety and environmental policies in the workplace. Advocates for and promotes a safe work environment by reporting Near Misses and/or other safety and environmental hazards, wearing all required PPE and encouraging others to do the same.
  • Develops and maintains a production schedule for one production area of Plant Hamilton assembly lines in support of meeting customer delivery requirements and best utilizing the organizations production capacity.
  • Reviews material supply and demand to determine actions appropriate to the development of the production schedule.
  • Level loads the schedule based off of input from the Production Unit Leader to meet customer requirements.
  • Maintains all schedule criteria in the Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system.
  • Monitors daily manufacturing performance indicators to quickly address issues such as a shortages or machine down-time.
  • Publishes production schedule by identifying products, equipment, sequence, completion dates, etc.
  • Interfaces with manufacturing personnel on material status and production planning issues.
  • Monitors production reporting and adherence to schedule according to key performance indicators.
  • Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experience in multi-faceted production control, planning, inventory control, and materials with ability to use spreadsheets and Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) software in managing the planning process required. Automotive experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic materials management, production planning, and inventory control techniques (i.e., capacity planning, JIT, lean manufacturing, production level loading, make to stock/build to order etc.).
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, WIP management, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing, distribution, and inventory control for financial impact.
  • Understanding of the discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze & solve difficult issues in a dynamic environment
  • Proven experience developing work processes to improve outcomes for the team/customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate the production plant into a time-phased build schedule.
  • Experience working with large ERP systems (SAP preferred) with strong understanding of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Independent & organized work style with the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work responsibilities, assume and manage multiple tasks without close supervision, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and initiative to take action as appropriate and necessary.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Proven ability to build strong business relationships at all levels throughout an organization.
  • Highly organized with ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.
  • Strong attention to detail with well-developed organizational and communication skills.

Education:
  • High school diploma. Bachelor's degree preferred.
