Position Description

Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is currently seeking a Production Supervisor for the SACROC Production Field in Snyder, TX. The successful candidate will serve a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the field with emphasis on Producing wells and its facilities. The SACROC Production Field employs over 1200 wells used for oil production, CO2 injection and Water Injection. The Production system is comprised of Water collection stations, Separation facilities for Oil, Gas and Water. The operation and daily Surveillance of LACT Unit 36 will also fall under the described job duties.

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for general oversight of and assigned Area of the SACROC Field This includes the direct supervision of 12 employee field operators.

Job Summary:

  • Provide Leadership and Guidance to the Area 1 Production Operations Group.
  • Work with Managers, Engineers, and Superintendents to ensure safe and efficient operations of its Production Facilities.
  • Develop Weekly Key Performance Indicator reports. "KPI's"
  • Track and provide budget updates.
  • Track and maintain MN's/Separation facility performance.
  • Ensure all maintenance is scheduled and entered in Maximo.
  • Review and close out all assigned Ops info items.
  • Mentor subordinates and develop training programs. Support and lead company initiatives such as maintenance management, safety goals and programs. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving operational problems.
  • Lead safety programs. Ensure all ILT's and CBTs are completed in a timely manner.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions in daylight & darkness.
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, reach with hands and arms.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

- Field vessels and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances

- Requires working on holidays when a holiday falls on a scheduled on-call weekend

- Must be available 24hrs a day Mon-Fri and must be available for scheduled on call weekends.

- Must be able to respond within 30 minutes during on call duties.

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5 to 10 years' experience in EOR Floods/Operations.


  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Must be willing to be on call and carry a company provided cell phone.
  • Must be willing to respond to Production/Injection upsets on short notice.
  • Must have a strong understanding of CO2 floods, Production Wells and its Separation Facilities.
  • Must demonstrate continuous effort to improve the operation.
  • Must be able to diagnose Production operational problems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Must be willing to work with the management team to establish goals, priorities, and expectations.
  • Must lead safety audits and develop safety strategy for area of responsibility.
  • Must be willing to take on additional responsibility as directed by management.
