The University of Tennessee Health Science Center invites applications and nominations for the position of Professor and Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine, College of Medicine Chattanooga affiliated with Erlanger Health System, in Chattanooga, TN. The chair will manage a department with 43 faculty, 30 residents, 17 fellows and an annual budget of approximately $6.4 million. The successful candidate will be responsible for the educational, research, public service and patient care programs in the department while also maintaining a fully accredited residency program in Internal Medicine as well as fellowships in Cardiology and Gastroenterology.

Qualifications

Candidates are required to hold an M.D. or D.O. degree and be board certified in their respective specialty and be eligible for licensure in Tennessee upon appointment. Additional subspecialty training is welcomed, but not required. Salary, rank, and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of and experience with ACGME and LCME requirements, demonstrated experience and skills in fiscal management, developing clinical practice plans, engagement in scholarly activities, communications, fund raising and development, and fostering collaborative working relationships with colleagues and community partners.
