Ohio Department of Public Safety - Ohio State Highway Patrol
Report In Location: Photo Lab - 1970 W Broad Street, Columbus 43223
[CURRENTLY HYBRID ELIGIBLE] Will report into the office 3 days a week and telework 2 days a week. Subject to change.

What You'll Do:

Within the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) division, act for administrator by providing program direction & relieving superior of most difficult duties pertaining to the Photographic/Digital Imaging & Historical Preservation Program:
  • Plans, develops, & organizes all visual communications program for the department;
  • Assigns, monitors &/or makes adjustments to projects based on importance, project deadlines, change in conditions or priority;
  • Directs, plans, develops & produces audio & video projects for the department; Collaborates with various sections for planning, designs, & events;
  • Oversees photographic infrastructure, training curriculum, & asset management;
  • Preserves, maintains, & releases evidence in accordance with evidence handling procedures; Collects information from investigators &/or prosecutors, & prepares exhibits for court;
  • Formulates & implements policies & procedures relating to seizure & examination of photographic evidence (e.g., reviews & updates policies & procedures on a regular basis in order to ensure policies support new computer & imaging technology, software programs, etc.);
  • Identifies program needs, requirements & makes recommendations in advanced equipment, technology, & applications to division Office of Criminal Investigations, Field Operations, &/or Special Operations;
  • Establishes priorities & supervises subordinate personnel (e.g., provides developmental opportunities & work direction, coach staff to foster development, monitors staff activities to ensure quality customer service & information technology security, evaluates performance, approves section staffing levels, recommends discipline, pre-screens applications & participates in interviews);
  • Attend seminars & classes for professional development; Participate in professional networking forums;
  • Represent administrator at meetings, conferences, & trainings;
  • Respond to inquiries from government officials, court personnel, general public &/or other stakeholders;
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications
    5 yrs. trg. or 5 yrs. exp. in business administration, management or public administration.

    -Or completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management or public administration; 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.

    -Or completion of undergraduate core program for academic field of study commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on File; 36 mos. trg. or 36 mos. exp. in supervisory, administrative, managerial &/or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.

    -Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 2, 63123.

    -Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
