Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of the Office of Transfer Pathways Department, the Program Coordinator (Coordinator) will assist in program development to engage students in high-impact opportunities related to transfer pathways. The Coordinator will work independently and in collaboration with members of the college community to coordinate campus tours, transfer partner visits, and other transfer-related events; respond to inquiries from students, faculty, and staff on behalf of the Office of Transfer Pathways. The Coordinator will participate in special projects as required.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Promotes the Transfer Pathways Department to the College community through programming and event execution; develops monthly events, programs, and services targeted toward HCCC students with transfer goals.
  • Assesses transfer student needs and satisfaction with specific programs and initiatives.
  • Manages the communication and marketing plans for incoming, current, and graduating students related to transfer pathways, processes, and timelines.
  • Updates and maintains transfer pathways promotional materials, brochures, flyers, and newsletters.
  • Participates in college events, including, but not limited to, Open Houses and New Student Orientation.
  • Organizes and maintains a digital database of all pertinent documents, including but not limited to dual admission and articulation agreements, institutional contacts, and related transfer resources.
  • Ensures students, faculty, and staff are aware of and understand active transfer agreements between HCCC and four-year partners; provides necessary training and support.
  • Serves as point of contact and guidance for prospective and current students, families, staff, faculty, and four-year partners.
  • Coordinates with the web management team to periodically request Transfer Pathways website updates and enhancements.
  • Provides advanced administrative support such as scheduling appointments with internal and external partners, coordinating logistics for events and meetings, maintaining inventory and ordering supplies, etc.
  • Collaborates with campus stakeholders, including the Offices of Advisement and Student Life and Leadership.
  • Works independently on assigned projects or processes, including the planning and preparation of communications, events, records, reports, and documents.
  • Flexibility to travel between Journal Square and North Hudson Campus.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required / Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree in Student Personnel/Counseling/Higher Education or related field; professional work experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a college environment, office, or customer service position.
  • Proficiency with various computer programs, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and related software and social media applications.
  • Proven leadership ability and well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with a culturally diverse population and to effectively and respectfully function and communicate within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.
