Why does the job exist?
The Program Coordinator II / Health Coverage Expansion Coordinator will:
- Be responsible for implementing health care affordability initiatives under New Mexico's Health Care Affordability Fund (HCAF);
- Represent a critical part of the law through implementation of the program to provide a coverage option to low-income uninsured individuals and families;
- Oversee the development and implementation of the program.
How does it get done?
The Program Coordinator II / Health Coverage Expansion Coordinator is responsible for:
- Developing and updating innovative policies related to the Health Care Authority's (HCA) uninsured coverage program by conducting research in collaboration with Health Care Coverage Innovation Division staff;
- Gathering community and stakeholder input, and working with other agencies;
- Acting as a liaison between HCA and other state agencies and quasi-governmental entities involved in the implementation of the program;
- Overseeing and providing quality assurance of critical elements of program implementation, such as the program's eligibility and enrollment process, customer service, data reporting, and other programmatic needs;
- Coordinating with the Division Director Financial Coordinator, vendors, and project managers to successfully implement programs.
