Introduction

The Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Public Health (DPH) works with our local and tribal public health partners, and community groups statewide, on a wide variety of programs and services that protect the health of Wisconsin residents.

DPH is recruiting for two Reproductive Health Family Planning (RHFP) Program Coordinators within the Bureau of Community Health Promotion (BCHP). The positions offer the option to work remotely up to 5 days per week and will be headquartered at one of the DPH central or regional offices . This schedule may vary based on training or operational need. Travel may be required up to 30% of the time.

Position Summary

The RHFP Program Coordinators will be responsible for the program coordination and contract monitoring operations of approximately half of the 45 RHFP program subrecipients. Subrecipients include state, regional, local agencies, and communities that receive funding from Wisconsin General Purpose Revenue, Title X and Title V Maternal Child Health and Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs Block Grant, and/or other awarded funds. Duties may include but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring the program is approached and administered with a health equity lens;
  • Conducting procurement, contracting, and program monitoring activities;
  • Assisting in the development of RHFP unit processes;
  • Developing program planning, implementation, and evaluation, as well as monitoring program outcomes; and
  • Coordinating quality improvement efforts.

Salary Information

The starting pay is between $26.00 and $30.00 per hour (approximately between $54,080 and $62,400 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. The positions are in the Human Services Program Coordinator classification and are in pay schedule and range 07/04.

  • For positions that do allow remote working flexibility, although residency in the State of WI is not required for permanent positions, it is not anticipated that working outside of WI or bordering cities will be allowed as positions may at times need to report to office locations in WI on short notice.
  • Employees must have access to both a private workspace and secure high-speed internet for remote work option. Mileage reimbursement to the employee's headquarter location is not provided. Remote work flexibility will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.

Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
  • Experience using computer programs and applications (e.g. Microsoft Office programs, etc) for data entry, report production, presentation creation, etc.
  • Experience with program coordination (e.g. building relationships with partners, facilitating meetings, identifying program/process improvements, facilitating fiscal components, streamlining communication, etc.).
  • Experience providing technical assistance to partners or programs (e.g., providing consultation or training, referring others to appropriate resources, etc).
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
  • Experience interpreting and applying state or federal rules and regulations related to reproductive health and family planning.
  • Experience using web-based computer applications (e.g. SharePoint, Smartsheet, etc.).
  • Experience leading program implementation and providing oversight.
  • Experience with grant management activities (e.g. monitoring, budgeting, etc.).
