Purpose of Position
Provide CCHC system with oversight of clinical products review, evaluation and utilization in support of the supply chain management function. Under the direct supervision and in cooperation with the CCHC Senior Manager, Purchasing this position will facilitate the CCHC system's clinical product value analysis process and structure.

Description

· Interfaces with physicians, sales representatives and clinicians to evaluate and coordinate the use of equipment and supplies.
· Actively creates an environment of safety and functions with a constant awareness of safety issues identified, including immediately correcting and reporting any unsafe conditions found.
· Effectively coordinates product conversions in conjunction with the Purchasing, Inventory, Distribution and Clinical areas.
· Upon request performs cost benefit analysis for products, services and utilization processes under review.
· Under the direction of the CCHC Senior Manager, Purchasing may be asked to develop and facilitate Value Analysis focus or sub-groups.
· Maintains a comprehensive list of supply reduction initiatives and related cost-savings.
· Educates both Clinicians and Materials Management on supply chain matters in an effort to reach a mutual consensus while being respectful of each areas distinct perspective.
· Evaluates utilization opportunities by researching and direct observation of clinical practices on all shifts including weekends and at all related facilities within CCHC.
· Solicits, encourages and is open to feedback and suggestions from clinical staff on improving efficiency, patient care and cost savings.
· Facilitates clinical product recall procedure, including all necessary documentation and vendor communication per policy.
· Interfaces with CCHC Clinical Education, as needed, to assist in scheduling new product and equipment staff in-services.
· Demonstrates interest in self-improvement, professional development and competency maintenance by attending appropriate classes, workshops and seminars.

Qualifications
· Active Registered Nurse with Mass. state license preferred.
· Bachelor's Degree or five to seven years materials management experience.
· Progressive experience with value analysis, supply chain management, product sales, or equivalent preferred.
· Meeting facilitation, leadership, change management and presentation skills.
· Advanced PC skills, e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point.
