PROGRAM MANAGER I

Responsible for administratively managing a University department under the general direction of a functional Program Director or under the auspices of a Program Advising Committee and according to an established program plan. May participate in the development of program objectives and is responsible for achieving objectives within defined parameters set by University and/or department policies and procedures or technical principles. May require fiscal management of grants and other funds. May manage multiple programs. Requires the use of independent judgment to determine the best approach to accomplish objectives established in the program plan. May supervise staff as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide exercise counseling (with prescription) for healthy and chronic disease populations using a variety of delivery methods. This will include but not be limited to consulting with participants to determine their exercise goals and objectives. Other aspects include reviewing progress in exercise protocols and scheduling all study-related assessment visits and exercise sessions. Responsibility also includes monitoring the programs to ensure study participant safety
  • Contribute to research protocol design
  • Implement and manage research protocols
  • Perform project coordinating duties related to research studies (e.g., fielding recruitment calls, preparing orientation packets, completing all required documentation for enrollment, data collection/management, regulatory documents, etc.)
  • Provide recommendations to the team regarding lifestyle intervention design, implement designed interventions and train others to implement the interventions, develop patient and staff educational materials relevant to the interventions, administrate and oversee successful intervention implementation, and track intervention outcomes (e.g., patient satisfaction, etc.). Will also design, implement, manage, and evaluate intervention modalities involving social media, etc
  • Assist with multidisciplinary team meetings related to public health, research, and clinical projects (e.g., schedule, logistics, minutes, agendas, etc.)
  • Assist with basic formatting and editing of scientific writing and patient education materials (written, videos, etc.)
  • Perform relevant literature reviews
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Annual Salary Wage : $43,890-71,320

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience applying exercise to clinical or research environments
  • Experience providing exercise prescriptions to cancer survivors; certified (or certification eligible) for the ACSM Cancer Exercise Trainer certification; certification indicating chronic disease population expertise (e.g., ACSM Exercise is Medicine and ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist
  • Ability to use desktop computer (and related software), smartphone, tablets, apps, social media, etc
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Health education experience
  • Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
