The Sustainable Packaging team (SP) is looking for an experienced, driven, and analytical Program Manager to lead a critical component of Amazon's Climate Pledge. SP sets the global strategic packaging vision to drive waste and cost reduction and contribute directly to Amazon's Climate Pledge goals. Our products are public facing and provide a unique opportunity to interact with end customers on every order. The Ships In Product Packaging (SIPP) standards team to which this role will report owns enabling new SIPP shipment volume by analyzing the success of eligibility changes through controlled experiments.

Key job responsibilities

Specifically, the SP Program Manager will own (1) defining hypotheses and designing experiments, including control and experiment groups, to validate hypotheses with data, (2) implementing experiments in fulfillment operations, (3) analyzing large data sets to identify the impact of various factors individually and in combination, (4) drawing conclusions from experiments that help guide the team towards project completion, and (5) working cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders to execute process changes. You must be comfortable deep diving large data sets, understanding complexities of fulfillment operations, and solving problems independently. You will have high ownership of your work, as proven by a record of driving projects to their completion. You are detail-oriented, agile, with strong time management, communication, and project management skills. Finally, you are comfortable working through ambiguity and driving large-scale changes in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment with fast delivery time and rapid iteration.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of program or project management experience

- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

- Experience in analyzing data to drive decisions

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

- Experience defining and executing program requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience

- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

- Experience with packaging materials science

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
