Responsibilities

This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of student affairs responsibilities including the oversight of the student conduct process for participants studying on International Programs. Additional duties include developing training and materials related to student affairs such as health and wellness, orientation, and international resources.

The Student Affairs Program Manager is also responsible for ensuring departmental compliance of relevant Student Affairs institutional policies and serves as the International Programs liaison with campus and overseas partners.

This position supports participants in areas related to traditional student affairs services including corresponding with students and parents regarding problems or concerns before, during, and after program participation. Serves as a member of after hours on-call team and works with Risk Team to identify trends and patterns in the needs of students and recommends approaches to meet those needs.

In addition, this position collaborates on pre-departure resources and events for students and faculty and is responsible for keeping up to date with student affairs standards in the field and making recommendations for updates to policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience related to academic and/or student services; or a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.
  • Prior experience in higher education, preferably in the area of student affairs.
  • Ability to take initiative on projects and work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Ability to interpret program requirements and provide advice.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of applicable computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Outlook).
  • Ability to write and/or proofread and edit written word and/or information in various formats.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, report, and/or edit information and perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of project planning, development, and evaluation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Anticipated Salary Range

The anticipated starting salary for this position is in the range of low to mid $50,000s, commensurate with experience and education.
