Summary : Responsible for collaborating and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders to identify key roles and departments that would benefit from an apprenticeship program. Create programs designed to enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities of Talent Acquisition Team.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a comprehensive apprenticeship and trade program aligned with NJ Transits talent acquisition strategies and workforce needs.
  • Develop apprenticeship curriculums, training materials, and career progression pathways in collaboration with industry experts and educational institutions.
  • Monitor and report on program metrics, providing regular updates to senior management. Evaluate the effectiveness of the apprenticeship program through feedback and data analysis.
  • Work along with Manager Outreach, Talent Acquisition, & Candidate Experience to oversee the application, selection, and onboarding processes for apprenticeship candidates.
  • Responsible for the updating and managing all outreach partnership contact database; State & Local agencies, Military Branches, Urban Leagues, Disability Community Organizations, Diversity, and Inclusion Organization, etc.
  • Participates in outreach events at various Workforce Development, One Stop Center, Military, Specialized Trade Schools, NJ High School & Junior High Schools, DOL, Workforce Organizations and Non-Profits while continuously developing partnerships while promoting NJ TRANSITs employment opportunities.
  • Monitors Outreach & Talent Acquisitions budget for supplies and training materials.Prepares and maintains P-card log.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned or needed by Senior Director Outreach
  • Design and develop processes materials and ongoing training that support proper execution of talent acquisition and related programs, including communications design, process forms, training materials, and other resources for both talent acquisition team member and stakeholder and providing training for programs.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Education or related area
  • Six (6) years of experience in project management, preferably in transportation, education, non-profit or service industries to include three (3) years of direct experience in the implementation of programs from inception to completion including setting goals, creating reference guides, and developing curriculum.
  • Experience working with and developing strategic relationships with employees at all levels and outside agencies is required.
  • Experience making presentations in person and on virtual platforms sources is required.
  • Experience in automated data analytics for metrics reporting purposes.
  • Must have experience in designing a program, managing, implementing, and evaluating of processes and procedures to ensure success.
  • One year of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
  • PMP Certification preferred

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Self- directed and motivated; able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to deliver interactive and engaging presentations to large and small audiences of various ages.
  • Must be capable to excel in a fast- paced environment, and to communicate effectively at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent follow-up, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyze, track and maintain all necessary data through automation; to ensure outcomes are achieved, reduce of errors and improve the speed of project delivery.
  • Ability to multitask with several project details at once.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills.
  • Expertise in process design and execution strongly desired.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, i.e., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.

  • Ability to work evening hours and weekends as needed to attend recruitment events virtually and in-person.
