Overview

The VIRGINIA Class Program continues to grow to support exciting future designs and continue support of construction authorized ships. This is a fast-paced, demanding program office requires energetic contributors to meet overall goals. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the program advancement of vital war fighting machines and technologies critical to national security.

In the Program Office you will be exposed to all facets of the Electric Boat enterprise including Design and Engineering, Operations, Planning, Finance, Contracts, Construction, Facilities, and Navy customers. You will encounter new challenges where you can leverage your experience in new ways. Program Office defines the overarching goals for a program beyond the usual ARTEMIS milestones. Through the program office, you will be exposed to a healthy mix of tactical and strategic planning which shape the future designs of ships. Program Office is the first line of defense against change and disruption; we are the first organization called on for help in fixing issues.

This position is for a VIRGINIA Class Representative reporting to the Program Supervisor and collaborating with the Program Manager. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision and possesses strong interpersonal and communications skills. As a Program Representative you may interface with all departments within Electric Boat and numerous Government Agencies and contractors.

Responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to
  • Preparation and coordination of meetings to demonstrate progress, challenges, and resolution plans for program tasking and orders.
  • Preparation and review of technical and programmatic documents for the customer (Navy).
  • Preparation and presentation of briefs to Navy, Supervisor of Shipbuilding Groton (SSGR), or all levels of Electric Boat Management.
  • Analysis of VIRGINIA program metrics, identification of issues, and management of required corrective actions.
  • Management of contracts to effectively determine and resolve Programmatic funding issues within the program.
  • Management of subcontractor development efforts to ensure alignment of team activities, budgets, and funding to support program execution.
Qualifications

Required
  • BS/BA in Engineering, Finance, or Business or 2 years of experience in project/program management
Preferred
  • Project management experiece
  • Detailed knowledge and experience working with government contracts
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience in working in both technical and business departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, Contracts, Program Finance, etc.
