In accordance with the Agreement between Organization of School Administrators and Supervisors (OSAS) and the Board of Education of the School District of the City of Detroit, the following vacancy is announced.

Position Summary:

Working with the Assistant Director of Enrollment Systems and Strategy, the Program Supervisor - Enrollment Training and Support plays a critical role in the Enrollment Division to design and implement family-friendly, efficient, and equitable enrollment processes. In this role, the Program Supervisor - Enrollment leads the design and facilitation of high-quality professional learning for School Clericals, Administrators, other staff, and families to ensure that families and school staff can navigate enrollment processes with fidelity and excellent customer service. They also develop written guidance and resources, as well as provide direct support to staff and families as they move through enrollment processes. In the role, the Program Supervisor - Enrollment Training and Support serves as a central coordination point with other teams in the District that touch enrollment to create clarity and alignment for families and schools in processes, training, and guidelines. They also manage tools that are used for enrollment, including paper enrollment packets and the new online enrollment system. ¿

Minimum Qualifications:¿
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Five or more years of professional experience with a history of designing and delivering professional learning and developing others, ideally in a K-12 setting and/or for software systems.
  • Outstanding facilitation skills and ability to engage diverse audiences in the learning experience. Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional written communication skills with an ability to develop concise, clear guidelines for staff and family audiences.
  • Ability to motivate and guide stakeholders through periods of change using thoughtful communication, strong processes, and meaningful stakeholder engagement.¿
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and functions within the organization.¿
  • Outstanding customer service skills and relationship building.
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing large-scale, cross-departmental projects and driving teams to deliver against deadlines and goals. Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong technical capabilities; preference for candidates who have experience managing and/or training end users on SAS tools or other software systems, ideally in a K-12 setting.
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and being a self-starter.¿
  • Able to maintain a strict level of confidentiality with student information.¿
  • Fluency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint)
  • Willingness and ability to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends, as required.¿
  • Access to reliable transportation for regular visits to community and District locations. ¿

Essential Functions:¿

The Program Supervisor - Enrollment Training and Support shall:
  • Design and facilitate high quality professional learning for School Clericals, Administrators, Central Office Staff and families, regarding enrollment processes, enrollment tools (including a online enrollment process), customer service, and family engagement in the enrollment process.
  • Develop guidance and resources directed to families and staff to complement professional learning on enrollment topics, including knowledge articles for staff, written guidelines, and website content.
  • Lead collaboration with key departments involved with the enrollment process to create aligned systems, training, and processes and to facilitate cross-department communication. Serve as the key point of contact for DPSCD's Customer Care team that manages the Help Desk.
  • Develop strong relationships with principals, clericals and other school staff to support implementation of enrollment processes.
  • Provide direct support to staff and families as they navigate the enrollment process via phone, email or in person engagement.
  • Manage enrollment tools, including printing and inventory of paper enrollment packets.
  • Provide administration support to the online enrollment tools, including end user troubleshooting, managing configurations, etc.
  • Monitor the use of enrollment tools and systems; recommend and implement improvements based on feedback from families and staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
