Job Duties

The Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking to hire a Program Support Technician for a part-time position with the CDL NDR work center team in Richmond, Virginia.

This is a technical position in a high-volume DMV regulatory unit that is responsible for providing services to the general public by providing guidance and direction to customer service agents on how to respond to various inquiries in a sufficient manner, and to the general public. This position reports directly to the work leader and/or work center manager and is an important communications link between DMV customer service representatives, and the general public. This position would review and process state to state duplicate pointer resolutions, and to maintain compliance with federal regulations.

This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

-Working knowledge of business English, grammar and math.
-Knowledge of office practices, automated systems and excellent PC skills with considerable knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
-Experience in data entry.

Additional Considerations

-Experience in Customer service skills, effective communication both oral and written communication.
