Job Duties
Position ensures HSU operates within the guidelines of Federal and State regulatory standards by providing high-level administrative, programmatic, and project management support. Applies knowledge of VADOC program, policies and procedures, and professional judgement to perform a variety of administrative responsibilities. Coordinates meetings with HSU Chiefs and fulfills requests and inquiries from various sources. Maintains multiple databases with up to date information and ensures compliance in the management of peer reviews, mortality reviews, and medical clemency requests. Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to compose correspondence using good grammar skills
Working knowledge of HIPAA and other State and Federal confidentiality regulations
Ability to deal effectively with public officials and executives of public and private agencies
Ability to function in a fast-paced and high-stress environment with frequent interruptions
Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and guidelines
Ability to analyze problems and offer recommendations
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to compose and edit documents, reports, proposals, presentations, policies, etc.
Ability to utilize office technology and software
Knowledge of Adobe Pro, Google Suite products, Microsoft Office Suite products
Additional Considerations
Experience in a correctional setting
Experience in a healthcare organization setting
Preferred experience with Nursys Licensing database and National Practitioner's Data Bank
Preferred experience with VACORIS
