    Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules.     The Position

    Applications are currently being accepted for Programmer Analyst II in the Information Technology, located at 9315 Hillery Dr, San Diego, CA 92126.

    As the second-largest of California's 72 community college districts, the San Diego Community College District serves approximately 100,000 students annually at its three, credit colleges, San Diego City College, Mesa College, Miramar College and seven campuses of San Diego Continuing Education.

    Hours are 8 : 00 to 5 : 00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Selected candidates must be willing to adjust work days / hours based on the department's needs.

    Applicants must have authorization to permanently work in the US, and maintain authorization while employed with the San Diego Community College District.

    The responsibilities for this position are to develop, modify, review and test code; develop documentation; coordinate testing with system staff and promote code changes to production environment. Review, analyze, document and prioritize user requirements for program enhancements. Perform analysis, implementation and training of new and existing software programs. Perform peer review. Participate in planning and execution of ERP upgrades. Provide technical support, advice and training to users and peer programmers. Participate in project management, prioritization and decision making with IT management. Coordinate with external consultants and contractors on assigning and collaborating program changes. and tasks.

    Desired Qualifications

    Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field and five years of relevant business experience in programming.

    Comprehensive knowledge of maintaining and enhancing computing architectures and environments in an Higher Ed environment.
    Functional background in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, PeopleSoft Finance and PeopleSoft HCM.
    Specific PeopleSoft software/programming languages/tools such as:

    Tentative Timeline (Subject to Amendments)

    Conditions of Employment:

    SELECTED CANDIDATE IS REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT:
    • Submit "official" college transcripts as stated on application (even if a degree is not a requirement for this position);
    • Provide a Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam for initial appointment (Note: The certificate must be renewed every 4 years as a condition of continuing employment);
    • Have fingerprints taken by a Live Scan computer at the District's expense (Clearance must be received prior to first day of employment);
    • Present original documents for proof of eligibility to work in the United States as required by the I9 Employment Eligibility Verification form; AND,
    • Attend a new hire processing appointment in People, Culture, and Technology Services located at the District Administrative Offices.
