Responsibilities

Responsible for understanding all functions of the scheduling process to include Patient Navigator duties in order to provide management with high level cross coverage ability and working with staff to increase quality of processes and improve productivity. Responsible for assisting with department new hire training and continued on-the-job training to all scheduling staff. Responsible for attending and participating in staff meetings to provide ongoing training to add to the continued efficiencies and standardization of processes.

1. Responsible for departmental training all scheduling staff to ensure understanding of all processes and efficiencies.
2. Responsible for assigned reports and projects for departments.
3. Responsible for assisting with Patient Experience initiatives in assigned departments.
4. Responsible for having a working understanding of all check in and check out processes.
5. Responsible for assisting with Quality improvement initiatives within the departments.
6. Cross cover in all areas of scheduling and at all locations.
7. Review all open tasks for scheduling within the practice management system to assist managers with resolution to improve patient access.
8. Responsible for optimizing physician schedules to improve patient access.
9. Responsible for presenting data in staff meetings to assist in ongoing training for staff.
10. Proactive participation in ensuring appropriate patient access into the practice.

11. Other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree or 2 years in the discipline

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Effective communication skills; computer literate; attention to detail;
    knowledge of insurance processes; strong understanding of HIPAA
    and patient privacy.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • One or more years in a medical office
