Apex Systems, The 2nd Largest IT staffing firm has an opening for an IT Project Managment Specialist with one of our largest Health Insurance clients in Nashville, TN. Our client is looking for someone with 2-3 years of project management or project coordination experience who is up for the challenge and will be a true contributor on multiple projects. Project Manager Main Duties:
  • Responsible for leading and/or assisting to coordinate the planning and managing of projects to accomplish the objectives of the project.
  • Allocates staff and budget resources required to achieve project objectives.
  • Works with product owners and product managers to coordinate systems testing, installation, training and support.
  • Uses appropriate project methodologies to structure and organize the user stories and tasks to be completed by the team.
  • Monitors and reports project status using established metrics.
  • Receives general supervision and is competent in all areas of project management.
  • Experienced analytical and technical skills.
  • Ensure all appropriate artifacts are uploaded to the appropriate site/tool in accordance with the company's development methodology.
  • Able to foster working relationships with the ODMS team and product owners.
  • Works with management and team members to meet project timelines and deliverables.
  • Build and negotiate project schedules, milestones and resources required to meet project objectives.
Project Manager Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of professional IT work experience or project management experience.
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Able to foster working relationships with the IT and Business teams.
  • Experience facilitating group meetings (in person or by phone).
  • Experience leading scrum planning and daily scrum meetings.
  • Project experience working in Information Management or Data Warehousing.
  • Ability to earn the trust of all leads within the organization, including department leaders.
  • Ability to work within a matrix team and a common set of objectives.
  • Familiar with Agile Methodologies/Scrum.
  • Familiar with IT Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Project Manager Skills:
  • Project Management methodologies such as Waterfall and Agile
  • Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), Jira, VersionOne or other like applications
  • Excellent Excel skills; Microsoft Office
  • Daptiv, Clarity, other PPM applications
