Job Description
This position is responsible for coordinating research activities with community and health organization partners. This includes ensuring partners are on schedule with implementing study activities , preparing study-related materials/supplies for distribution, and providing training and technical assistance with study sites. Project Coordinator/Research Assistant will also work collaboratively with study team members to ensure all study implementation deliverables are being met, and will report to the Project Director.
In collaboration with our community and health organization partners, Project Coordinator/Research Assistant will assist with coordinating community-based events (e.g., health screenings and/or community-clinics, informational meetings and community forums, community action board meetings). This position will also help with facilitating study recruitment including screening, enrolling, scheduling, and collecting data with study participants. This position will also maintain ongoing contact with partners in scheduling project events and reviewing event logistics. Additionally, Project Coordinator/Research Assistant will maintain contact with participants at designated intervals to ensure retention goals are met and will assist with data entry, data cleaning, and focus group facilitation, transcriptions, and coding. Furthermore, the Project Coordinator/Research Assistant will receive certification training in key health-related areas (e.g., diabetes prevention, linkage to care and community resources referral systems) to assist in leading community-based, educational prevention programs.
In addition to the responsibilities outlined above, the Project Coordinator/Research Assistant will attend team meetings, troubleshoot and work with the Principal Investigator and Project Director to resolve issues in the field, contribute to study manuscripts and conference presentations, and will assist in maintaining study websites.
Candidates should be detail-oriented, with excellent organizational skills and oral/written communication skills. They should also have the ability to work independently while exhibiting excellent interpersonal skills.

Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $40,000 - $57,000.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.

S/he will need to take initiative to solve problems, be immersed in the community and with our partners, be comfortable in communicating with church and other community leaders, present at national conferences, and know how to have a good laugh.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications ...
- B.S./B.A. required
Preferred Qualifications ...
- Masters or higher
- Project management experience
- Proficient competency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Willingness to learn other software applications is essential
- REDCap experience
- Experience in conducting health promotion research, especially with underserved and minority communities, and working with faith and community-based populations
