A-C Equipment Services, a division of thyssenkrupp Polysius North America, Inc., is engaged in the design, manufacture, installation and service of rotary kilns. Our customer base includes cement manufacturers, paper mills and various other mineral and chemical processing companies located in all parts of the United States.

Position Overview:

The Project Engineer is responsible for the design of rotary equipment, machines, and components. The Project Engineer is also responsible for adhering to customer specifications and cost estimation of large-scale projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Discuss quotation requests, specifications, issues, and solutions directly with customers.
  • Interact and work closely with Sales, Project Management, Manufacturing, and Field Repair staff to meet customer commitments.
  • Perform technical calculations (both by hand and computer assisted).
  • Analyze customer needs (drawings, specifications, etc.) and offer solutions.
  • Prepare technical specifications for parts.
  • Prepare cost summaries.
  • Organize and file project paperwork (both paper and electronic).
  • Effectively use computer systems and common programs including MS Office, AutoCAD, etc.
  • Prepare and present customer presentations (sales support and/or training class).
  • Occasional travel to customer sites to inspect, measure, install, and/or service equipment.
  • Occasional travel to existing or prospective suppliers to perform Q/A inspections.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineer degree with 2-3 years of engineering experience. Entry level engineering graduates considered.

Required Knowledge & Skills:
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Show initiative and make decisions.
  • Work well within a team environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Technical background in rotary kiln and grinding mill components.
  • Proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor software.
  • Experienced with F.E.A.

Travel Demands:
  • The Project Engineer is required to work in the office.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.
