Position Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will play a critical role in providing technical/engineering and project support to the site project execution team. Reporting to the Project Manager on-site and assigned by the Field Engineering Department Manager, you will work closely with project leadership to ensure work is executed in accordance with contract requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations. Additionally, you will provide pre-planning, estimating, proposal, and project management support from the corporate office between project assignments.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Manage the requests for information (RFI) process at the project site, including specification and project documentation reviews.
  • Participate in project team meetings and contribute engineering input to project-related decisions.
  • Incorporate health, safety, and environmental considerations into all project activities and documentation.
  • Develop strong relationships and partner with discipline superintendents to provide technical/engineering support for field execution work.
  • Review and analyze project documents such as drawings, specifications, and contract materials to advise the site project team.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations and provide technical document drafting as required.
  • Interact with customers, engineers, and subcontractors regularly to understand project objectives and incorporate considerations into site issue resolution work.
  • Assist in turnover processes with construction and startup/commissioning teams.
  • Track and report production quantities to project control and management functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for potential changes and contract change orders.
  • Manage the preparation of construction and installation work packages for assigned disciplines.
  • Perform walk-downs to monitor progress of work packages.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on assigned projects.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in field engineering or project engineering, with a commitment to personal growth and continuing education.

The base pay range for this role is $101,000-$123,000 annually.
