Description & Requirements

The Project Manager II is responsible for capturing the vision, business objective and team mission of IT and non-IT-related projects for overall project success. Successful project managers acquire appropriate resources, plan projects with focus, and manage risks, communication and overall quality throughout the project. Project Manager II is responsible for significant and firm-wide projects, typically with large budgets and sizeable teams that support clearly defined business objectives. Candidates for this position must be well organized and able to work on multiple simultaneous projects and, therefore, must have excellent time management and prioritization skills. This role is responsible for leading planning efforts, successfully coordinating execution of work and maintaining proper control over assigned projects. Leadership mindset and skillset are a must for this role.

Adaptability is also important to this role as the project manager II will work on a variety of project types, including evaluation and selection projects, application/software development projects, major implementation projects, integration projects and business process change projects as well. The Project Manager II will lead project team members in a matrix organization undergoing transition by working with and through resource managers to ensure adequate project staffing levels and team performance.

How you will contribute:

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders
  • Plan, schedule, organize & share project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Track project milestones and deliverables
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle
  • Conduct project postmortems, lessons learned and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management
  • Collaborate with Manager EPMO for project mission and business objective alignment
  • Work with Resource Coordinator to identify and assign project resources
  • Estimate the hours needed to achieve project goals
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company
  • Determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments, if necessary, during the project cycle
  • Collaborate with Manager EPMO for continued project support and guidance
  • Manage project development from initiation to successful close
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Coach, mentor, and motivate project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
  • Continuously learn and collaborate with other Project Managers for overall growth and maturity of PMO
  • Closely monitorstatusof projects and tasks assigned toteam, providing reports to IT leadership
  • Seek opportunities for continued professional development to learn and grow project management skills
  • Collaborate and obtain guidance from Manager EPMO.





We are looking for people who have Forward Vision and:
  • Demonstrate skills in and aptitude for developing skills in the knowledge areas of project management including integration management, scope management, schedule management, cost management, quality management, resource management, communication management, risk management, procurement management and stakeholder management.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills, while demonstrating high leadership skills throughout project(s).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Typical candidates will have a bachelor's degree in project management or other field of study
  • Have 3 to 10 years of project management or leadership experience that has prepared them for an intermediate project manager role.
  • 3 years or more of previous relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years or more of previous relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
