Burns & McDonnell is looking for a Water Municipal Project Manager, with name recognition in the Oklahoma market. The project manager will be leading some of the industry's best engineers while executing highly technical, complex engineering projects focused on drinking water and wastewater treatment, storage and pumping facilities. They will focus on working with senior leadership to develop business, building engineering, and construction capabilities, and managing projects for municipal wastewater and water agencies. The project manager will work with our Design-Build team to help grow the business across the region. This includes helping to grow the Water practice in a dynamic and profitable manner based on Burns & McDonnell's core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety, and overall outstanding service.

Specific areas of responsibility include the following:
- Serve as project manager on key projects.
- Assist in the development of already established clients and new clients.
- Assist in the development and organization of a focused sales approach strategy.
- Identify project opportunities early and facilitate go/no-go decisions in cooperation with Water leadership.
- Develop relationships with other consultants and contractors to build possible teaming arrangements for Design-Build pursuits.
- Assist in contract and negotiations process for projects after selection.
- Initiate and lead proposal development and production.
- Must be able to manage for results, maximize project profitability, manage billable hours on projects and achieve stated targets and standards for financial performance.
- Assist in recruitment, mentoring, and retention of junior staff.
- Directs and coordinates activities of several disciplines on a project of moderate scope or a combination of smaller projects.
- Promote and follow Burns & McDonnell safety protocols on all projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering or related field from an accredited curriculum.
- Minimum 7 years (10 years preferred) related experience, including 3 or more years managing engineering or architectural projects.
- Highly qualified candidates will also have preferred experience with drinking water transmission and distribution and wastewater collection and conveyance.
- Must have the ability to deal effectively with various industry, government and public contracts on project-related matters.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Professional Registration is preferred.
- Flexibility to travel 10% of the time.
